WORLD NGO’s DAY 2026

Frontiers Children Development Organization (FCDO) was honored to participate in the vibrant celebrations marking World NGO Day, held at Cradle Hotel Lodwar. The impactful event was proudly sponsored by our key partner, Danish Refugee Council, with whom we are jointly implementing the transformative Karamoja Strong Project (KSP).

The event brought together a diverse network of NGOs and development partners, each showcasing the meaningful work they are doing to uplift communities. Discussions and exhibitions highlighted critical interventions in areas such as livelihoods, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), food security, peace building, and community resilience.

FCDO’s participation stood out during a powerful presentation by our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maurice Lokwaliwa. He shared insights into our innovative Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) initiative, including the operational factory in Nadapal. This initiative has become a beacon of hope in addressing food insecurity challenges in the region. The factory not only enhances access to nutritious food but also strengthens the local economy by providing farmers with a reliable market for their produce.

Through the OFSP value chain, farmers are empowered to sell their harvest to local markets, improving household incomes and enhancing community resilience. This integrated approach continues to demonstrate FCDO’s commitment to sustainable development — transforming agriculture into both a solution for food security and an engine for economic empowerment.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Danish Refugee Council for sponsoring this important event and for their continued partnership under the Karamoja Strong Project. Together, we remain committed to building resilient, self-reliant communities across the region.
