INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD 2026

๐ŸŒ International Day of the African Child 2026
Today, as we commemorate the International Day of the African Child, we join the rest of Africa in reflecting on this year’s theme:
“Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa.”
At Frontiers Children Development Organization (FCDO), we recognize that access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is not only a basic human right but also a critical foundation for a child’s education, health, dignity, and overall development.
We remain committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential without barriers that hinder learning and well-being. Through our continued investment in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives, we have supported schools and communities by constructing and equipping water storage facilities, installing handwashing stations, and improving access to safe water and sanitation services.
As part of these efforts, FCDO has successfully constructed handwashing facilities and improved access to potable water in:
* Nadapal ECDE Centre
* Nabuin Primary School
* Nadipoi Primary School
These interventions have benefited more than 1,500 school-going children and community members, enhancing access to safe hygiene practices and creating healthier learning environments.
Our WASH initiatives continue to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, improve children’s health and well-being, and support quality education by ensuring that learners can study in safe, clean, and dignified environments.
As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening WASH systems and working alongside communities, partners, and stakeholders to build a future where every African child can learn, grow, and succeed.
